One of the emerging targets in cardiovascular area of research is Adenosine, a purine nucleoside which is present throughout the body. It plays an important role in energy transfer through the formation of ATP, ADP, AMP and in signal transduction via formation of cAMP. It regulates myocardial oxygen consumption and coronary blood flow, exerting anti-inflammatory effects throughout the body. It also plays an important role in tissue damage, repair and cell death. BioVision offers three unique assay kits for the study of adenosine metabolism: Adenosine Assay Kit, Adenosine Deaminase Activity Assay Kit and our recently launched Adenosine Deaminase Inhibitor Screening Kit. Our kits are rapid, simple, sensitive, reliable and suitable for high-throughput screening.
Specific, homogeneous assays
Versatile: colorimetric and fluorometric formats
Convenient: minimal sample preparation, fast protocols (1-2 hours)
Cost-effective: 100 assays
Adaptable: works with most of the commonly available instrumentations
(a) Sample Inhibition of ADA enzyme activity by erythro-9-(2-Hydroxy-3-nonyl)adenine hydrochloride (EHNA) and Pentostatin using K993-100. Characteristic IC50 curves of relative inhibition as a function of inhibitor concentration. IC50 values obtained were 10.04 µM and 0.22 nM, respectively.
(b) Adenosine amount in human plasma and human urine using K327-100. Data were obtained by following the kit protocol.
